Preparing for your heat treatment
Heat treatment needs far less prep than chemical sprays — but a few small steps on the morning of the visit make the day faster and the result more reliable.
Items to remove from the property
- Pressurised aerosol cans (deodorants, hairspray, cooking sprays).
- Wax candles — they melt at our treatment temperatures.
- Vinyl records, unmounted photographic film, fresh-cut flowers.
- Chocolate, soft cheese and temperature-sensitive food in bedroom side cupboards.
- Live houseplants (a hot afternoon won't kill them but they'll wilt).
- Pets — cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, reptiles all out for the day.

Items to bag before treatment
Anything that has been close to the infestation — bedding, recently-worn clothing, soft toys — should go into sealed bin liners. Leave these bags in the room so they are treated alongside everything else during the heat cycle.
What to leave exactly where it is
Mattresses, beds, sofas, wardrobes, books, electronics (laptops, TVs, phones), most artwork and most furniture all stay. Heat circulates better with normal room layout — we'll adjust as needed.
Access and parking
- We need around 4–6 hours on-site.
- Parking close to the front door speeds setup significantly.
- Either hand over a key first thing or arrange a meeting time.
- You don't need to be present during treatment — we'll lock up.
The night before
Strip the bed and bag the linen. Pull furniture 10cm away from external walls if you can. Empty washing baskets into sealed bags. That's it.

Disclaimer & agreement
I confirm that I have read and completed the preparation instructions above to the best of my ability. I understand that Extreme Heat Force UK will carry out a chemical-free heat treatment at the address provided, and that internal temperatures will reach levels capable of damaging heat-sensitive items (including but not limited to wax candles, aerosols, vinyl, certain plastics, live plants and pets). I understand that IKEA furniture, flat-pack furniture and other laminated or veneered items are heat-sensitive, and the laminate edging or trim may soften, lift or unstick during treatment. I confirm that all such items have been removed from the treatment area and accept full responsibility for any items left in the property. I agree to provide safe access for the duration of the treatment (typically 4–6 hours) and confirm the information I have given is accurate.
