Aftercare
Heat treatment ends the existing infestation in one visit. These aftercare steps protect against future re-introduction.
The first 24 hours
Once the property has cooled to room temperature (usually within 2–3 hours of us finishing), use the home exactly as normal. Sleep in your own bed. Pets can return. No chemicals are present, so there are no surfaces to wipe down and nothing to ventilate.
The first week
You may find a small number of dead bed bugs in the days following treatment as they're disturbed and brushed out of skirting boards and seams. This is completely normal — they're dead. Vacuum and bin them. Live bugs at this stage are vanishingly rare; if you see one, photograph it and call us.
Encasements
We strongly recommend bed-bug-proof mattress and pillow encasements after treatment. They make any re-introduction visible immediately and dramatically reduce future harbourage.
Travel hygiene
- Inspect mattress seams in hotels before unpacking.
- Keep suitcases off the bed, ideally in the bath or on luggage racks.
- Hot-wash all returned clothes at 60°C+ or tumble dry on high for 30 mins.
- Vacuum suitcases on return.
If you see anything suspicious
