Floors & carpets

Thoroughly vacuum every carpet, rug and hard floor — including under beds, sofas and along skirting boards
Empty the vacuum or remove and seal the bag immediately, then place it in an outside bin
Lift and remove all toys, children's play mats, building blocks and dolls from every floor
Pick up all clothing, laundry baskets, shoes, slippers and dressing-gowns from floors
Clear newspapers, magazines, boxes, bags and any clutter from the floor in every room
Move free-standing items such as suitcases, fans, plant pots, baskets and umbrella stands off the floor
Pull sofas, armchairs and beds out slightly from the walls so airflow can reach behind them
Roll back small loose rugs at the edges (do not remove fitted carpets — they need to be treated)
Clear the floor space under beds completely — no storage boxes, suitcases or under-bed drawers

Pet bedding & soft furnishings

Remove pet beds, pet blankets, food/water bowls and litter trays from all floor areas
Wash pet bedding on the hottest cycle the fabric allows
Strip beds of all bedding, pillows, duvets and mattress protectors and wash on the hottest safe cycle
Remove throws, cushions and loose covers from sofas and chairs and either wash them or lay them open
Hang any washable blankets, rugs or throws over rails or chair backs so heat can circulate around them
Open wardrobe and cupboard doors in treated rooms so warm air can flow inside

Remove from the property

Wax candles, wax melts, crayons and any other waxy or meltable items
Pressurised aerosol cans (deodorants, hairspray, cleaning sprays)
Oil paintings and delicate artwork
Live houseplants and fresh-cut flowers
Perishable food, chocolate, soft cheese and temperature-sensitive items
Pets — cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, reptiles and birds out for the day
Makeup, medicines and toiletries that may melt
Valuable or delicate items you are concerned about

Access & the day before

Arrange parking close to the front door for our equipment
Hand over a key or arrange for someone to meet us
Let neighbours know if you live in a flat or apartment block
Block out 4–6 hours for the treatment and cool-down
Plan to be out of the treated rooms during the heat cycle
Arrange for your pet to be treated by a vet for fleas at the same time as our visit

Disclaimer & agreement

I confirm that I have read and completed the flea heat treatment preparation instructions above to the best of my ability. I understand that Extreme Heat Force UK will carry out a chemical-free heat treatment at the address provided, and that internal temperatures will reach levels capable of damaging heat-sensitive items (including but not limited to wax candles, aerosols, vinyl, certain plastics, oil paintings, live plants, pets and some medications). I understand that IKEA furniture, flat-pack furniture and other laminated or veneered items are heat-sensitive, and the laminate edging or trim may soften, lift or unstick during treatment. I confirm that all such items have been removed from the treatment area and accept full responsibility for any items left in the property. I agree to provide safe access for the duration of the treatment (typically 4–6 hours) and confirm the information I have given is accurate.
